We begin with an initial meeting to discuss your research, your challenges and needs. The aim is to propose a bioinformatics project plan that is tailored to your requirements and provides the best value for you.

Once we have agreed on the project goals in the initial meeting, we draft a plan of the required analyses (and sequencing, if required) needed to reach those goals. At this stage we will provide you with the plan and a quote, which includes a schedule and costs. The project plan can then be discussed and revised as required so that the best solution for your project is achieved.

If new sequencing is required as part of your project we can coordinate all the logistics and paperwork with the sequencing provider. We can also liaise with your provider of choice, or you can provide us with the sequences after arranging the sequencing yourself.

Comprehensive quality control of sequencing data is critical to project success and statistical significance of the results. In addition to technical quality of the sequence reads we will also ascertain its quality with regards to the analyses required. We aim to make sure that all samples and replicates can be used in the statistical analysis.

To transform your raw sequencing data into results that you can directly use in a publication or an internal report, we will design and implement a custom analysis pipeline. The analysis plan and timelines will have been described to you in the project plan.

We sit down with you after the analysis is completed to carefully explain what we did and what the results mean. If additional analyses are required, or the report required in a specific format, or if any part of the analysis needs repeating this can be discussed and agreed at this meeting.

We present the full results to you and send a detailed project report with methods, descriptions and results. The report will include figures, tables and files which may be required for publication. We also provide all the raw data, intermediary files and results files produced. We provide a free post-project service for answering questions about your analysis at any point in the future.
